30X30 Fashion Remix Challenge: Outfit Update

I'm baaack!

Bo and I had a wonderful weekend in Annapolis celebrating Matthew and Jamie's wedding.  I have to say, visiting Annapolis brought back a lot of really great memories for us.   We spent several very formative years up in that part of the country, and it was a little emotional to reflect on the impact that those years had on who we are today.  In fact, it was a little bittersweet to head back home to Florida.

But enough sappiness...

I have a LOT of pictures to share with you from the weekend; but instead of jamming them all into a single post, I decided I would break them up into different topics/categories and share them with you over the next three days.

In today's post I am going to update you on my 30X30 Fashion Remix Challenge!  Originally I intended to have three outfits to share with you, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of one of them.  Oh well, two outfits is better than none, right?!

  • Outfit #1 was my travel outfit from Jacksonville up to Annapolis on Friday.

Colored jeans are really trending right now (I don't think I have ever used the word "trending" before)!  Everyone from Katherine Middleton to Khloe Kardashian is wearing them, so I decided it was high time that I joined in on the trend!  I found these royal blue babies at Plato's Closet for $6.00.  Even if the trend only lasts a few months, I can rest easy knowing that I spent about the same amount of money on these pants as I would on a soy latte.

I tied the nautical look together with a striped t-shirt from J. Crew, a red hobo bag from Target, and finished it off with gold ballet flats and gold jewelry.  Absolutely perfect for travelling, this outfit is comfortable, chic, and stylish while also being completely easy to throw together!

  • Outfit #2 was my travel outfit from Annapolis back home to Jacksonville on Sunday.

In my opinion, skinny jeans with a little bit of stretch are a travelling girls best friend!  These jeans were less than $10.00 from Forever XXI and I. LOVE. THEM.  They have the perfect amount of Spandex, and the "curvy" fit means that they fit my thighs and booty without any extra material around the waist = SCORE!

I paired my skinnies with a lightly woven grey sweater, white tank top, black ballet flats, baby blue scarf (c/o Bo and Las Vegas' Ceasar Palace), and topped it all off with silver jewelry.

Note: I N.E.V.E.R. travel on an airplane without a paschmina.  It doesn't matter if you are flying to the Florida Keys, it never fails that the airplane cockpit is freezing.  The beauty of a paschmina is that it can double as a blanket it times of a frozen-fingers-and-toes threat.  Crisis solved!

Before I go, take a look at how long my hair is getting (compare it to my profile picture on the top left and you can really see the difference)!

Don't get me wrong, my pixie cut was really fun, but I am beyond ready to have longer hair again.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!  I am hoping that by the holiday season I will have a solid neck-length bob to work with!

Next time: a closer look at Bo and I's visit to his alma mater - the United States Naval Academy.  It was a beautiful day and I have some wonderful pictures to share!

Question of the Day:

Would you ever wear colored jeans?!

They are all the rage right now, but I'm interested to see how long the trend lasts!

Blessings,
Ally and Bo
